Submission Terms

Last updated 9 September 2026.

These terms apply whenever you submit content to Community Connect, including events, groups, organisation and charity listings, local stories, photographs, links and any other material. They are in addition to our Terms of Use, Privacy Notice and Content & Safeguarding Policy (which sets out what we will and will not publish). By submitting content you agree to them.

Your confirmation

When you submit content, you confirm that:

  • you have the right and any necessary permission to submit it; and
  • you grant Community Connect permission to publish, display and share it on the site.

In other words: “I have the right or permission to submit this content, and I give Community Connect permission to publish it.”

Content you may submit

You may only submit content that is yours, or that you have permission from the owner to submit and have published. This applies to text, photographs, logos and any other material. For a photograph, that means you took it or own it, or you have the photographer’s permission; where a photograph shows identifiable people, you should have their agreement to it being published, particularly where children are shown.

If you are submitting on behalf of a charity, community group or other organisation, you confirm you are authorised by that organisation to submit its information and to agree to these terms.

The permission you give us

You keep ownership of what you submit. You give Community Connect Life CIC a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to publish, display, store, adapt for formatting, and share your content on the site and in reasonable promotion of the site (for example, sharing an event link). This licence lets us run the site and show your content to residents.

You can ask us to correct or remove content you submitted at any time, using the “Something wrong or missing? Tell us” report link or by emailing [email protected]. We will act within a reasonable period, though copies may remain in backups for a time and we cannot recall anything others have already shared. See our Terms of Use for the full correction and removal process.

Accuracy and keeping it current

You are responsible for the content you submit and for it being accurate. Please let us know if something you submitted changes or is no longer correct, for example an event that is cancelled or a group that has moved, so we can update or remove it.

What not to submit

Please do not submit content that:

  • is unlawful, defamatory, offensive, discriminatory or harmful;
  • infringes anyone else’s copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights;
  • is false, misleading or deliberately inaccurate;
  • includes other people’s personal information without a proper basis for sharing it (contact details a group has chosen to publish are fine; a private individual’s details are not); or
  • is spam, purely promotional advertising unrelated to the local community, or a scam.

Moderation and removal

Nothing you submit appears on the site until a moderator has checked it. We may edit for clarity or formatting, decline to publish, or remove content later, at our discretion, and we are not obliged to publish anything. Where we can, we will tell you if we decline or remove something and why.

How we use your details

We use the name and email you give with a submission to review it and to contact you if something needs checking. These contact details are not published. See our Privacy Notice for the full detail.
