What you’ll see

Seven strands, one place.

A community isn’t a collection of separate issues. Planning affects traffic. Traffic affects air quality. Development affects wildlife. Green space affects wellbeing. Community facilities affect connection.

So the information is organised the way the place actually works: six strands drawn from Harmony’s emphasis on nature, place and what came before, and a seventh of our own.

“the future lies in working in far greater harmony with nature”

King Charles III
  1. Strand I

    Nature & Environment

The green space, heathland, woodland and water on your doorstep. How clean the air is, where it floods, and where you can help.

  2. Strand II

    Place & Development

What is being proposed, built and dug up around you. Most of it is decided in public, on a deadline, but only if somebody notices in time.

  3. Strand III

    Community & Connection

The halls, groups and events that hold a neighbourhood together, and the practical ways to contribute to it rather than only complain about it.

  4. Strand IV

    Health & Wellbeing

Where the nearest defibrillator is before you need it, who to call, and the sport and wellbeing services that keep people well in the first place.

  5. Strand V

    Learning & Skills

CommUNIty is about uniting by learning. Where learning already happens near you, plus the talks, workshops and skills sessions open to everyone.

  6. Strand VI

    Heritage & Identity

Harmony places real weight on respecting place, tradition and what came before. What is protected near you, and what makes this neighbourhood distinctive.

  7. Strand VII

    Future Generations

A community isn't a collection of separate issues. Planning affects traffic. Traffic affects air quality. Development affects wildlife. Green space affects wellbeing. This strand reads the other six together.

Contribute, don’t just complain

Know something the map doesn’t?

Open data can tell you where the woodland is. It can’t tell you that the litter pick meets there on the first Saturday of the month. Add a local event, group or initiative, and once a moderator has checked it, it will show for everyone who looks up a nearby postcode.
