The combination of lean, species characteristics and unstable ground conditions presents an unacceptable risk to neighbouring property. T4 (Pine) – Located within the natural spring, leaning at approximately 45 degrees and currently resting against T5. The tree is structurally compromised and dependent on another failing tree for support. T5 (Silver Birch) – Located within the natural spring. The tree has a snapped top and is currently supporting the lean of T4. The additional loading and existing structural defect mean the tree cannot be safely retained. The proposed felling is required on safety grounds to remove the risk of harm to persons and damage to neighbouring property.
